INGREDIENTS:

* 1/2 cup soy sauce
* 1/2 cup sake or dry sherry
* 1/4 cup sugar
* 1 small pear, peeled, cored and finely chopped
* 4 scallions, finely chopped
* 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
* 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves. You can toast sesame seeds by throwing them in a hot skillet and tossing for a couple of seconds. Quickly pour out of the pan to prevent burning.
